George ChoipelYouth Wellbeing Officer

George Choipel is a Youth Wellbeing Officer in the Youth Wellbeing & Belonging Team.

George has recently completed a Master’s of Counselling and has experience providing counselling and support to students in school. Along with the Masters of Counselling George has a Bachelor and Masters level from the Central University of Tibetan Studies and an Upper 2nd Class Masters in Comparative Ethics and Philosophy.

He likes doing paintings, socialising and hiking.  He also teaches Tibetan Thangka Painting to young people and adults in Australia and overseas.

George will be supporting young people with individual counselling and support in person at the Visy Cares Hub in Sunshine, in some schools or online. Along with individual support George will work with school on addressing gap identified in their Resilient Youth Australia survey, support the delivery of parenting capacity building programs such as Tuning in to Teens and Mental Health First Aid.
