It’s time to meet your 2024 Brimbank Youth Council!

The Brimbank Youth Council is made up of young people in the area, who are motivated, excited and determined to represent the young community of Brimbank.

Abolfazl is 18 years old and currently a Year 12 student, studying hard for his VCE assessments. As an active person, he was motivated to join communities to try and make them better. Read about him below.

Why did you join the Brimbank Youth Council?

I decided to join Brimbank Youth Council because I like to be a representative and be the voice of local societies. I am also interested in studying community service, so this is a great opportunity to get acquainted with my desired major.

What are you passionate about?

I like sports, attending events, music, drama performance, and public speaking.

What are you hoping to achieve as a Brimbank Youth Councillor this year?

I hope to achieve the knowledge to solve and manage the problems and concerns that our local citizens in Brimbank are confronted with, as well as project management and knowing more about the council and the services they provide.

What does a better Brimbank look like to you?

To be a booming area that has good services and respectful citizens, with less arguments and less racism

What’s one piece of advice you have for young people who want to create change in their community?

My advice for young people in the community is to participate, attend and be active in events that are running, including festivals, competitions, art works or anything that is related to them. They can share their stories, concerns, and suggestions to people or organisations that provide specific services, and they would be able request help or even help other people in the community.
