Young Researchers in Schools

Brimbank Youth Services young-researchers-2

Each year, Brimbank Youth Services offers students in Brimbank and their schools the opportunity to train in qualitative research skills.

These sessions are run by academic researchers from Swinburne University to support you in developing the key skills you need to undertake thorough, ethical and robust research.

Across four sessions in a year, young people receive an interactive, hands-on experience learning and applying research skills while having the opportunity to work with other schools.

The program culminates in a presentation to school leadership teams and Brimbank City Councillors. Participants have this opportunity to share their research findings and recommendations to be implemented at their schools.

Sessions are held once per term from 9:30am-12:30pm in the Sydenham Neighbourhood House, Sunshine. Young people can participate in the program via their school.
