Frequently Asked Questions
What does a typical Glow session look like?
No two Glow sessions are the same! Our sessions are casual – we ease into the afternoon with activities, music and a chance to catch up before diving into fun challenges and games.
We use basketballs, hula hoops, pickleball paddles, and all sorts of equipment to get moving in unexpected ways. Along the way, participants will get creative, work together, and build confidence all while having plenty of laughs.
Every session includes a snack break, with refreshments provided by us.
I hate P.E class and sport, is this program for me?
This program is actually perfect for you! Don’t worry, we won’t have you running the beep test.
There is some light movement involved, but the focus is on fun, friendships, trying new activities and moving our bodies (without us even realising it is ‘exercise’).
I want to join but I feel so nervous and shy coming into a new group! Help!
We get it! We’ve been there!
And that’s why we try to make the sessions as social, friendly and supportive as possible, with lots of get-to-know you activities, opportunities to strike up conversations with people, laughter and team activities (minus the competition).
I identify as queer or non-binary, can I join?
We aim to create a welcoming and safe space for female-identifying and non-binary folk, so yes, you are welcome.
It’s hard for me to get to the venue by the start time, is that OK?
We know the after-school rush is real.
Join us whenever you can, we’ll always welcome you, no matter when you arrive.
Can I share ideas about activities I'd like to try in the program?
OMG yes! We love hearing your ideas about things you want to try or maybe a special skill you have that you’d like to share.
In the past, we’ve had participants lead a session teaching us ballet. Tell us what you’re into and we’ll try our best to include it in one of our sessions.
