Develop your confidence, self-belief, and mental strength as part of this six-week program for young people aged 11 to 14 years old.

Rock & Water is a social skills program aimed at raising self-awareness of personal strengths and abilities.

It supports young people to manage the responsibilities and challenges they might encounter. The program builds on the complementary strengths of ‘the rock’ and ‘the water’. One is firm and assertive, while the other is flexible and willing to cooperate.

Fun and engaging exercises and activities will help young people learn about:

  • Control
  • Focus
  • Balance
  • Letting Go
  • Assertiveness
  • Body language
  • Communication
  • Safety
  • Personal boundaries
  • Connection
  • Mental strength

Frequently Asked Questions

If my young person lives and goes to school outside of Brimbank can they still register?

All young people that have a connection to Brimbank are welcome to attend. This could mean that you attend school, live work, play sport or visit one of our Libraries.

If none of these fit, we are happy to talk through options.

Yes.

The Rock & Water program is a six session weekly program that develops confidence, belief, self-awareness, connection and belonging.

These strengths are best obtained gradually from attending all sessions, thus participants are expected to attend all sessions.

We do, however, understand that things happen such as illness, which might mean absence for one or two sessions. This is ok!

Yes, please email bys@brimbank.vic.gov.au and we can arrange a hard copy for you.
