All The Activities Brimbank Youth Services is Bringing to Festive Fun Day
Brimbank City Council is thrilled to bring the community together for Festive Fun Day on Sunday 1 December at Errington Reserve, St Albans, full of activities for all ages!
This year, Brimbank Youth Services is bringing skate culture to St Albans in collaboration with YMCA — so whether you’re a seasoned skater, a beginner, or simply interested in exploring the skate scene, there’s something for everyone.
LEARN TO SKATE
If you or someone in your family is eager to start skateboarding, this is your moment!
We’re running two unstructured Learn to Skate session across Festive Fun Day for all ages and all abilities. Learn the basics of balance, movement, and safety on a skateboard with our friendly instructors. Equipment is provided.
These sessions are perfect for:
- Absolute beginners looking to try skateboarding for the first time
- Kids and teens who want to build confidence on a board
- Parents curious to pick up a new skill alongside their children

SKATE JAM | 1-2pm
For those who already know their way around a skateboard and aged 10 to 25-years-old, the Skate Jam is the ultimate way to show off your skills. Take part in a friendly competition with some fantastic prizes up for grabs. You could win:
- A skateboard deck as the major prize!
- Shoes
- Skate apparel
- Hardware
- Wheels
- Consumables like wax and grip tape
This event isn’t just for participants; it’s also a lively spectacle for spectators who want to cheer on local talent and enjoy the atmosphere.

SKATEBOARD ART WITH LUKAS KASPER
Skateboarding has always been about more than tricks—it’s also about self-expression, and nothing expresses that better than your own custom skateboard art. In this hands-on workshop for young people aged 12 to 25 years old, you can unleash your creativity by designing your own skateboard deck. Led by local artist Lukas Kasper, use paints, markers, and other materials to create unique artwork on your skateboard that reflects your personality.
This workshop is perfect for:
- Aspiring artists who want to explore new mediums and styles
- Skaters who want to add a personal touch to their board
- Families looking for a fun, collaborative creative project
All materials will be provided, and the workshop is open to all ages, so don’t worry if you’re not a seasoned artist—just bring your imagination!
