Tell us more about yourself!
I am currently a Year 11 student who is always looking for ways to make a difference. I am very interested in both leadership and community service, as I am currently a STEM Captain at my school and enjoy spending my weekends volunteering at Vinnies. In my free time, I love to run and compete in cross country, watch classic films, and spend time with my friends and family.
Why did you join the BYC?
I joined the Brimbank Youth Council because I want to make meaningful change within our community. I believe that as young people, we offer unique perspectives and ideas that can help address issues that directly affect us. Being part of the BYC gives me the opportunity to work alongside others who are equally passionate about creating a positive impact, and it allows me to contribute to decisions that will shape our future.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about making a positive impact in my local area. I enjoy collaborating with others because I believe that teamwork leads to more effective solutions. I am committed to helping create a stronger and more supportive environment for everyone.
What are you hoping to achieve as a BYC member this year?
As a Brimbank Youth Council member this year, I hope to contribute to meaningful projects that address key community issues. I want to help create a stronger connection between youth and local decision-making to ensure our voices are heard.
What does a better Brimbank look like to you?
Personally, a better Brimbank looks like a place where everyone feels like they belong. It’s a community where people support each other and where young people are encouraged to participate and help make a difference.
What’s one piece of advice you have for young people who want to create change in their community?
One piece of advice I have for young people who want to create change in their community is to stay persistent. Change takes time and often begins with small steps. Stay focused on your goals, and understand that each action, no matter how small, can create real change in your community.
