Dynamic Young Citizens is Brimbank City Council’s junior civic engagement program, designed to build confident, connected and informed young leaders.
Through interactive workshops and a real-world project, students explore how local government works and the role Council plays in supporting community health and wellbeing.
Each participating school group identifies a topic that impacts their student community and works to investigate the issue and develop practical recommendations. School leadership and Council officers are invited to attend the final session to hear students present their recommendations.
Through this experience, young people:
- Build confidence to engage with Council services and communication channels
- Gain a deeper understanding of local government systems and decision-making
- Develop leadership, teamwork and civic engagement skills
- Strengthen connections with peers
