Events and opportunities

  • Brimbank Youth Services is hosting Summer Sundown, your go-to hangout event every Wednesday at the VISY Cares Hub. Come through for free food and drinks, DJs playing tunes, and games! Every Wednesday 3:30-5pm. FLYER
  • Youth Projects is addressing the need for more youth hang out spaces in St Albans, are running Friday Kickback sessions at Victoria University St Albans Health & Fitness Centre at 3-4pm. Young people aged 15-25 from the St Albans area are welcome to attend. Map of youth spaceFlyer

Programs

  • North Sunshine Roadrunners‘ Soccer Junior Training program is returned, for boys and girls aged 5-14 years. Contact details on flyer.
  • Brimbank Council’s CUL-TI-VATE Program is a 6-week program that is designed for entrepreneurs or intrapreneurs to accelerate the process of validating an idea, understanding if there is a market for it and then determining the viability for it. Program begins 12 March 2025. Apply here. More info here.
  • West Sunshine Community Centre has released its term 1 program for 2025. Highlights include:
    • Outdoor Futsal program every Wednesday until March 2025. The focus is on having fun and meeting new people. There is plenty of spots available across 3 session times. Register here.
    • Basketball program for boys and girls of all ages with Manny Hendrix. Register here.
    • Social Soccer every Wednesday until 26 March for young people aged 16+. Teams are invited to register play. Register here. FLYER
  • River Nile School supports young refugee women, aged 15-21, who may have been disengaged from mainstream schooling and/or had disruptions to obtaining education as a result of their refugee experience. Enquire hereFLYER
  • Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House is providing free community pantry stocking basic shelf-stable supplies. Collection times are every Wednesday at 10am-12pm. You can also arrange a time to collect supplies. Visit their community garden for fresh herbs & produce. Research Surveys

  • A team of researchers from Monash University are completing national consultations with victim-survivors about their experience of police. Young people aged 15+ who are victim-survivors of family, domestic and sexual violence are invited to participate in interviews or focus groups and will be paid with a $50 electronic gift card.
