Young people are under the spotlight more than ever, with topics like youth crime or the social media ban gaining attention in the media. Luckily, there are various youth services that can help young people in Brimbank deal with a diversity of issues, most of which are within the same block!

1. Brimbank Youth Services
That’s us! Brimbank Youth Services is provided by Brimbank City Council, and supports young people aged 10 to 25, their parents, and schools. They must live, work, study or socialise within the City of Brimbank to be eligible to access many of our services.
We offer ten no-cost counselling and support sessions for young people, as well as many programs to help social engagement, leadership, youth voice, and more.

2. Youth Junction inc.
Originally an incorporated society, The Youth Junction inc. has now evolved into an expert organisation offering various kinds of support for vulnerable young people in Victoria.
They can refer young people to programs about crime prevention, education and employment support, family violence, trauma and more. If you’re needing a safe space to chill out, The Hub at Visy Cares Hub in Sunshine offers a central place to hang out with your mates.

3. Youth Support and Advocacy Service (YSAS)
YSAS is a free service dedicated to helping young people aged 12 to 25, their families, and communities navigate substance use, crime prevention, and mental health support. With 19 sites available, there are two in Sunshine, each offering different kinds of programs which you can get involved in.
29 Devonshire Road. Sunshine is the primary location for the Alcohol and Other Drugs team in the West. Their crime prevention services, such as Youth Support Service (YSS), run from the Visy Cares Hub at 80B Harvester Road, Sunshine.

4. Youth Projects
Youth Projects is an independent charity that provides services on homelessness, primary health, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, employment and training, and social enterprise.
They have three locations in Brimbank – Sunshine, St Albans, and Taylors Lakes – all three of which deliver the Transition to Work program.

5. headspace
You’ve probably heard of them: headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12 to 25 year olds.
Their centre in Sunshine is based at Visy Cares Hub, offering a variety of services as well as youth programs, but young people can also access mental health support online or via phone.
