Schools Exchange Webinar: Supporting Positive Social Interactions for Young People

You’re invited to attend the Schools and Community Organisations Exchange, hosted by Brimbank City Council as part of Council’s ongoing commitment to education and lifelong learning.

October’s session will present practical ideas for supporting young people to understand emotions, friendships and to manage peer conflict independently.

It can be particularly helpful to students who have social difficulties and experiences of trauma.

This engaging way of teaching social skills will provide strong and systematic resources that can increase connectedness and positive social interactions for young people in your school.

Guest Presenter:
Dr. Connie Buckingham  –  Psychologist and Director of the Social Learning Studio

Our guest presenter is Dr. Connie Buckingham, Psychologist and Director of the Social Learning Studio – a multi-disciplinary practice in Brunswick West and Geelong. She is also creator of Social Stencil, an evidence-based program teaching young people life shaping social skills.

When:  Thursday 13 October, 9.30am-11.30am. 
Where: Online via Zoom
Who:   – school, government and community agency representatives 
            – staff/volunteers in your school who assist families to access local services
            – staff/volunteers in community-based or wellbeing roles
