Brimbank Youth Council Update: 002
Hi everyone,
My name is Thomas, and I am a member of the Brimbank Youth Council. In this post, I would like to give you an update about what our youth council has been up to over the past couple of weeks.
Due to the current conditions, we have continued to hold our weekly meetings online so we can still represent young people in Brimbank and be voices for change. We open our meetings with an icebreaker challenge such a game of hangman or a pop quiz – These can get quite interesting!
The first project we are actively engaged in has been focused around Mental Health and Self Care particularly during the current crises. After some lengthy brainstorming and discussions, we’ve broken down some of the key elements that we would like to address in our campaign.
Over the coming weeks, please check out BYS social media platforms to see all this work coming together. And on a final note, I’d like to mention that being isolated doesn’t mean you are alone: There are many support services available that can still be accessed online.
Thanks everyone and stay safe!
