Meet CHRISTOPHER – 10 Young People Of Brimbank!
Victorian Youth Week is a ten-day celebration of young people aged 12 to 25 years old that takes place each year in April.
Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, we unfortunately had to cancel many events. Although that doesn’t mean the celebration is over!
In Brimbank, we’re celebrating YOUTH WEEK by highlighting the uniqueness, talents and creativity of 10 young individuals in our community including CHRISTOPHER !
Three things about you
Hi! My name is Christopher O’Reilly. I’m 18 and am a proud resident of Brimbank. I’m passionate about our safety, diversity and education, and I love being a part of this vibrant community. I’m also a pre-service primary school teacher studying at ACU.
Where is your favourite place or activity in Brimbank?
My favourite place in our community would have to be our cinemas; there’s nothing better than catching up with friends over a movie!
What do you hope for the future of Brimbank? OR What is one thing you would like to improve about our community?
I hope that Brimbank continues to invest in its communities infrastructure and services- like walkways, parks, and roads; so that as our communities grow, we are able to sustain our high standards of living.
What’s one achievement or accomplishment that you are proud of?
During my final years of secondary education at Caroline Chisholm; I served as a Language Captain, where I was responsible for all cultural events/activities and engagements at the college. I have also volunteered many hours at local primary schools, and loved every minute of it!
Now that you have more free time at home, how are you spending it?
With more free time, I’m getting myself back up to date with the uni work that I have been procrastinating with! However, I am also painting and returning to watch some unfinished seasons on Netflix that I have been meaning to get back to!
What’s your number 1 tip or advice for other young people who are staying at home/self-isolating?
Even though we are physically separate from our friends and family; we are still connected digitally. We are fortunate enough to be in an era where this is possible. Please make use of these, and remember to keep your distance!
Thanks CHRISTOPHER, the @brimbankyouthservices team wishes you the very best for all the future ventures, that life has in store for you!
