Wear it Purple Day fast approaching – Friday 26 August 2022

In its twelfth year, Wear it Purple Day is an annual awareness day held on the last Friday in August which aims to create safe, inclusive and empowering environments for young people who identify as LGBTQIA+.

Wear it Purple Day is happening this year on Friday 26 August 2022 and this year’s theme is ‘Still Me, Still Human’.

Be sure to check out Brimbank Youth Service’s social media accounts for a special Wear it Purple post that celebrates and supports the LGBTQIA+ community on this important day and share far and wide!

Brimbank Youth Service’s Crystal Queer program will also be celebrating Wear it Purple by having a purple themed party and baking some purple (blueberry) muffins!

Avoid the FOMO! If you’re a young person aged 12-23 years and identify as LGBTQIA+ or an ally, join the Crystal Queer crew. Visit our Crystal Queer webpage to find out more and express interest.

If this Wear it Purple day, you’re like Jacob and keen to immerse yourself in queer books and media, be sure to sign up to our Crystal Queer monthly newsletter! It is filled with fantastic LGBTQIA+ events, opportunities and recommendations for books, TV shows, movies, musical acts and podcasts with queer representation.
